Collegiate Wind Competition

Cal Poly was selected to compete in the 2024 Collegiate Wind Competition, an interdisciplinary competition sponsored by the Department of Energy and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

Each team completes all three components of the competition:

Connection Creation

We connect with industry members to learn more about careers and paths in the wind energy industry. Then, we take what we learn, spread the word in the community, and educate others about wind energy.

Project Development

We plan a wind farm development in the region chosen by the competition, considering economic, legal, technological, and environmental factors to select a site and map out a farm.

Turbine Development
